Carly Marasco and Cris Paden were wed on Sunday, April 14th in the Norman area. Carly is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Marasco of Seattle, WA while Cris is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Paden, formerly of Norman and now Broken Arrow, OK. Carly grew up and went to school in the Seattle area and is a graduate of University of Puget Sound. Cris grew up in Norman, attending school from elementary education through graduation at the University of Oklahoma. Carly and Cris currently reside in Los Gatos, CA. Carly is employed with Google, Inc. in Mountain View, CA while Cris works for Twilio, Inc., in San Francisco.
The wedding was held at Southwind Hills in Goldsby, OK, attended by friends and family from across the country. Carly's sister, Deina King of Seattle, WA, attended as the maid of honor. Groomsmen for Cris were Timothy Harrington of Murrieta, CA; Jonah Paden of Norman, OK; and Jackson Paden of Norman, OK. The ceremony was officiated by Byron Burkhalter of San Jose, CA. Byron grew up and is originally from Oklahoma City and has been a friend of the family for nearly 30 years. Four readings were part of the ceremony, carried out by friends and family of the bride and groom: Keiry Alfaro, Murrieta, CA and daughter of former Norman resident Betty Delgado Harrington and her husband Danny; Tracy Andreen, West Hollywood, CA, a former resident of Tulsa, OK and University of Oklahoma graduate; Gary Cardinelli, of Seattle, WA; and Larry Cardinelli, also of Seattle, WA.
Members of the University of Oklahoma Student Gospel Choir provided music for the ceremony, singing heart-stopping, hand-clapping renditions of the following songs: "Roll, Jordan, Roll," "Let Us Break Bread Together," and "Maybe God's Tryin' To Tell You Something." All resulted in tears and applause. Patient, thorough and beautiful photography was provided by Stephanie Jones-Gunn of Seattle, WA.
The reception was held afterwards at Southwind Hills, in addition to a post-game "tailgate" party held the night before at the Norman Marriott, after the University of Oklahoma's spring football game. The wedding party would like to thank the following vendors for their outstanding support and services rendered to make the entire weekend event a tremendous success: Amy's Cakes of Norman, OK; Malorie Avaline Salon, Oklahoma City, OK; Jake's Rib of Chickasha, OK; Devin Long and M&M Productions of Oklahoma City, OK; Alex Morris and the staff of the Marriott Courtyard, Norman, OK; Shana Myers of Ink Stained Fingers Calligraphy, Edmond, OK; Helen Woitchek and the staff at Norman Regional Home Medical Equipment, Norman, OK; Well Beauty Studio of Oklahoma City, OK; and most of all, the entire staff at Southwind Hills for pulling together a flawless event, particularly wedding coordinator Candice Janowiak and florist Lori Harbin.
Lastly, Carly and Cris would also like to thank those who donated to Golden, CO-based www.bigcitymountaineers.com, a charity providing underprivileged kids across the country access to outdoors experiences such as hiking and wilderness expeditions. The charitable giving was at the request of the couple in lieu of traditional gift registration and giving.
After the ceremony, the couple experienced a mini-honeymoon hiking and four wheeling in Big Bend National Park, in west Texas, with a more expansive honeymoon planned for Fall 2019. The couple will continue to reside in Los Gatos, CA with frequent trips to Seattle and Norman for family, food and football.
